Looking for a new job from September?

We certainly don’t want to wish the summer away, but it is true that we are looking ahead and planning for September, and perhaps you are too. If so, that’s great! Why? Because we’ve got lots of September vacancies lined up. Whether you’re looking for full-time work, or something a bit more flexible, we might just have the role for you.

What kind of experience/qualifications do I need to work in a local school?

To work as a teaching assistant or cover supervisor with us, you don’t need any kind of teaching qualification, just some recent experience working with children. This could include volunteering, coaching, tutoring, mentoring, or something similar.

We do also have other roles on offer, such as qualified teacher and admin positions, so be sure to keep an eye on our vacancies pages, where you will find specific requirements for each role.

Why should I work in education?

There are many reasons why you should consider working in the education sector. You would be making a difference now more than ever, as schools are extremely busy, and are in need of more staff. Working in a school will also help you to develop many transferrable skills, such as patience, resilience, and creativity. Plus, working with young people can be a lot of fun, and no two days are ever the same, so you’re unlikely to get bored!

What if it’s not for me?

If you start working in a school with us and discover that it’s not right for you, then that’s no problem, and you can leave at any time. Likewise, if your circumstances change, for example you find another job or move away, then that’s fine too. Working with Staffroom is a great way to test the waters commitment-free, and who knows, you may just discover that you have a passion for teaching! We’ll also only send you to the schools that you’re happy to go to, so if you end up liking some more than others, just let us know!

How do I get started?
