Things to do in South Wales this Summer

Schoooooool’s. Out. For. Summer! I am almost certain that I wrote that in one of last summer’s blogs too, but it’s just so fitting. Whether you’ve got the whole of the summer holidays off, or are just wanting to make the most of the weekends, it’s likely that you may be looking for inspiration for local things to do this summer. Well, look no further! Here’s your guide of things to do in South Wales this summer…

For the water lovers:

Cardiff Aqua Park

Head on down to Cardiff Bay’s Aqua Park to take on their new inflatable course - it’s said to be bigger and better than ever before! https://aquaparkgroup.co.uk/cardiff/

Lido Ponty

Whether you fancy a casual swim or a splash about in the activity pool, there’s something for everyone at Lido Ponty. Be quick though, sessions are filling up fast! https://www.rctcbc.gov.uk/EN/Resident/SportsandLeisure/Lido/Home.aspx

Cardiff International White Water

If paddle boarding, kayaking, or white water rafting sound like they could be for you, then a visit to Cardiff International White Water this summer is a must. Take a look at the full list of activities and secure your spot here: https://www.ciww.com/

For the adventurers:

Oakwood Theme Park

If you’re a bit of a thrill-seeker, Oakwood Theme Park is a must this summer. It’s just over an hour away from Cardiff so well worth a day trip. Take a look at the variety of rides and more on offer here: https://www.oakwoodthemepark.co.uk/

Go Ape

If rollercoasters aren’t quite your thing, why not give Go Ape a go? If a high ropes course with zip lines sounds right up your street, then be sure to pop over to Margam Park for a day of adventure. Find more information and book your visit here: https://goape.co.uk/regions/wales

Waterfall Country

Consider yourself adventurous but not quite *that* adventurous? How does a walking trail exploring Waterfall Country sound? For the families

Folly Farm

If you’re living in South Wales, there’s probably a good chance that you’ve already been to Folly Farm, and if not, then why not pay a visit this summer? Meet the animals, explore the fairground, and run wild in their indoor and outdoor play areas. Take a look at tickets here: https://www.folly-farm.co.uk/

Plantasia

Experience the rainforest by heading over to Plantasia in Swansea. From crocodile feeding to princess days to dino-mania, you’re bound to have a fun day out with all the family: https://www.plantasiaswansea.co.uk/whats-on/
