As I’m writing this, the sun is shining, and it’s an absolutely beautiful day - yes, we do actually get nice weather in Wales every now and then! Cardiff Bay (which is where our office is) is looking absolutely beautiful, and it’s days like today that remind us just how lucky we are to work here, so we thought we’d share why we love working in Cardiff Bay so much.

It’s the most beautiful place to go for a lunchtime walk

We certainly don’t take for granted how lovely it is to be able to go for a lunchtime walk along the waterfront - it makes for a pretty incredible view in the sunshine! We’d definitely recommend going for a walk along Cardiff Bay barrage if you get the chance. It can be a bit windy sometimes, but in the height of summer it’s usually a welcome breeze.

The history of the Bay

For example, the Norwegian Church which was built in 1868 and used as a meeting place by Norwegian seafarers during the industrial revolution. Fun fact: Roald Dahl was baptised here! The church now hosts various events and even has its own café. Basically, we think it’s a pretty cool place to have on our doorstep.

The Arts Scene

From the Millennium Centre to the Glee Club, there’s always so much going on down at the Bay! Whether you’re looking for stand-up comedy, or a heart-warming musical, you’re bound to find something up your street. Plus, Cardiff Bay looks pretty incredible at night.

The many, many restaurants at Mermaid Quay

From Italian to Japanese cuisine, from sandwiches to pub grub. No matter what kind of food you’re looking for, the choice of restaurants down at Mermaid Quay is sure to satisfy your appetite. If you’re looking for somewhere special, be sure to check out Gin & Bake for delicious food and amazing cocktails!

In conclusion, Cardiff Bay is a pretty cool place, so if you get the chance to pop down for the day, then make sure you do. If you’re lucky, you might even see Kira out on one of her walks - she loves meeting new friends down at the Bay!
