Our First Experience With Work Experience

sehar

That's right, you heard us, work experience.

This week we’re letting Sehar loose on all things Staffroom. But first, let’s find out a little more about her..

Tell us a bit about yourself?

My name is Sehar Rasul and I’m 15 years old. I go to Cathays High School and I’m currently in Year 10 doing my GCSE’s. My favourite colours are blue and purple and I have 3 older siblings who I tend to argue a lot with (most of the time over silly things), but I wouldn't have it any differently.

How has your first few days at Staffroom been?

The first day was good, I was happy to have my own desk and computer as it made me feel mature and that I was trusted with my own space. The day entailed working with spreadsheets and just getting used to using the work computer. I learnt a lot from sourcing CV's and making calls.

What keeps you busy outside of the office?

Outside of the office I mostly attend school, concentrate on studying and chill out by watching Netflix and reading magazines. I like going out with my friends and having fun.

What are your goals/dreams for the future?

I want to do well in my exams and get myself into school/college in America. It looks completely different to how it is here in the UK and it's something I've always aspired to do.

So where do you hope to be in ten years?

In the future I would like to see myself working for a good company and actually enjoying my job, maybe settle down and get married but for now travelling is at the top of my agenda, I want to see the world. I'm passionate about experiencing different cultures and lifestyles so it's definitely on my to-do list.

And finally (we always keep the most important question until last) IF you could have any super power in the world, what would it be and why?

If I had any super power it would have to be ‘healing’.  I could not only get rid of minor injuries like cuts and bruises, but also help ease the pain of people suffering from serious illnesses. Cancer, Alzheimer’s, and AIDs would all be history and I'd be able to make a difference.
