Staffroom Education are recruiting a specialist Teaching Assistant who has experience within Social Care setting or a background supporting individuals as a 1:1 with their personal care.

We are seeking candidates who demonstrate the medical skills needed to support, nurture, educate and challenge pupils.

The vacancy is a long term, temporary post within a vibrant 11-16 English Medium Secondary in Cardiff – close to the city centre.  An inclusive school with learners from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and cultures.

Role Requirements:

• A good understanding of Personal care, specifically Supporting Individuals with A Catheter;

• Qualifications, training or experience in Social Care;

• The ability to support the class teacher and follow planning/timetables;

• Strong communication skills;

• Promote positive attitudes towards learning and build strong relationships with staff and pupils;

• Remain up to date with educational developments and changes whilst undertaking the role;

• Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection;

• A current and clear, fully-enhanced DBS disclosure certificate;

• Full registration with the Education Workforce Council.
