It's Chriiiistmas! (Ok not yet but nearly)
Today is finally the day we’ll be putting up our office Christmas decorations and we can’t wait to walk into the winter wonderland that will otherwise be our office on Monday. So, before we pop on the Christmas tunes and get creative, we thought we’d get some Pinterest inspiration to share with you guys. Maybe you could use these DIY classroom Christmas decorations to do with your pupils next week to transform your classroom into Santa’s grotto!
The accident free Christmas tree!
So first things first, a Christmas tree is a must but often with children filling the classroom with energy (extra energy at this time of year) it’s probably not the most practical object to have. This wall Christmas tree idea is a lovely way to save space and to make a tree personal to your class, all you need is some coloured paper, a pencil for stencilling and some scissors! Easy peasy!
HUGE Baubles
Next, you can’t have a tree without baubles! Perhaps the children’s parents won’t want these ginormous baubles on their Christmas trees at home but these paper plate versions are a great idea to get the children into the festive spirit without making too much mess and can be glued onto the wall tree! You could use a hole punch to cut out the tissue paper, use a pritt stick to glue the paper plate and simply sprinkle on the cut outs!
Lollipop Gingerbread Men
A Christmas tree not only needs baubles but it also needs some personalised additions! A smaller option for a Christmas tree decoration with a bit more character are these lovely little gingerbread men using lollipop sticks, ribbon and buttons! Who knew a lollipop stick could look so cute!
Paper Plate Wreaths
The finishing touch - Why not create some mini wreaths with paper plates? To reduce waste, you could use the middle section cut out of the wreath as your ‘HUGE Baubles’ in the second decoration idea in this blog! It may not be a good idea to leave these hanging on the front door, we do live in Wales remember people, no one wants a soggy wreath…
