Valentines Classroom Crafts

So, Valentines day is upon us and what better way to celebrate at school than with some themed arts and crafts? We’ve been scrolling through Pinterest gathering some inspiration for some hassle and (mostly) mess free crafts to do in the classroom!

1.       Hand print Valentines cards

Square cards are so last year, why not put your pupils into pairs and get them to help each other stencil out their hands to create some handmade hand print cards? The cards can be decorated however they want, instead of sending the card to someone special, they could draw all the things the love the most on them!

2.      Heart paper plates

Paper plates are a must when it comes to crafts, use some ribbon to tie around the plate and stick some coloured paper on top with a heart cut out of the middle. Why not add in some glitter? (If you don’t mind finding it everywhere for the next year!).

3.    Valentines door hangers

This is a lovely gift for the children to take home with them, all you need is ribbon, a staple (or pritt stick) and pink red and white paper. Each heart could be decorated differently or even include little notes!

4.       Heart shaped bunting

Craft isn’t craft without bunting, it’s easy and makes the classroom look so much more exciting! How about getting the children to draw heart patterns all over A4 card then cutting them into heart shapes as big or small as they like? Use a hole-punch to feed ribbon or string through!

5.       The tree of love

Lastly, the love tree! If you have some space on a wall in your classroom or even on the door, why not stencil out a tree then cut out some heart shaped leaves and get children to write down something to do with love, this could be, what they think love is or what/who they love the most!
