Teaching Assistant Newport

We are looking for Teaching Assistants to work in Newport. We have a variety of part-time and full-time roles available, allowing you to choose your days and hours.


Role Requirements:

  • At least 3 months of experience working with children in a professional capacity, for example: Volunteering at your local school, church group or community group, sports coaching, mentoring or similar

  • We also welcome applicants with childcare/education specific qualifications that have experience of working with children within the past year

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Help prepare the classroom before class 

  • Tidy the classroom at the end of each class 

  • Support the teacher when needed 

  • Support reading groups 

  • Help with group activities 

  • Provide one to one support as well as working within small groups 

  • Help with administrative tasks 

  • Provide feedback to the teacher on the pupil’s progress 

  • Assist with the development of basic Literacy, Numeracy and ICT skills
