Cover Supervisors required for Secondary Schools in Cardiff

Staffroom Education are recruiting Cover Supervisors to work within our schools across Cardiff.  We are looking for candidates who are flexible and passionate about working in Education. These positions are a great opportunity and offer excellent experience for Final Year Students, all cover work provided by our schools in Cardiff is offered on a day-to-day, or long-term temporary basis.  

We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated people who have experience in classrooms, or educational settings. As a Cover Supervisor, you will follow pre-prepared exercises left by the Classroom Teacher upon their absence. Your main job will be to ensure that pupils are happy, focused and staying on task.  All work is on a supply basis, so we will work around you, if you are looking for supply work why not apply today!

The role of a Cover supervisor is to:

  • Delivering work that has been left for the class

  • Have excellent behaviour and classroom management skills

  • Collect all completed work at the end of every lesson, and handing out any homework left by the Class Teacher

  • Have a basic knowledge of Literacy, Numeracy and ICT

  • Be highly adaptable, e.g.  follow lesson plans, and understand classroom timetables and break time rotas

  • Be able to differentiate lessons and provide extension exercises if needed

  • Comply with School policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection and reporting any issues to the appropriate member of staff

  • Tidying the classroom at the end of each lesson

  • Undertake form/lunchtime/break duties including registration cover
